Organization & Application Management

Welcome​

In Optimizely Analytics, organization management and application management work together to structure how data,projects, and permissions are organized.​

An organization is the top-level entity that represents your company or a specific business unit. Inside each organization, youcan create and manage applications—logical groupings of objects designed for a specific business use case. Applicationshelp teams work independently without sharing state across different projects.​

• Explain what an organization is in Optimizely Analytics.​

• View and navigate organizations and their applications.​

• Create, edit, share, and access applications.​

• Understand how permissions work for applications and their root folders.​

Organization​

​Every Optimizely Analytics user belongs to one or more organizations.​

• Most users belong to a single organization—usually their company.​

• Larger companies may have multiple organizations for different business units operating independently withinAnalytics.​

​Organizations are set up by Analytics for your company, and user access is granted accordingly. To view yourorganizations, click Applications in the navigation menu.

Applications​

An application is a container for a specific business use case, project, or initiative. Applications do not share any state with each other, allowing teams to work independently. You can create multiple applications within the same organization.​

​Create an application​

When you create an application, it is automatically shared with the All Users group, granting Full Access to all members. The application’s root folder inherits the same permission.​

​Edit an application​

Update application details—such as its name or configuration—to reflect changes in your use case.​

​Share an application​

You can share applications with specific users or groups, with permissions set to Can view, Can edit, Full access, or No access. Sharing also applies the same permission to the application’s root folder.​

​Access an application​

All applications you have access to appear under the organization in your Applications list.​
