In this module, you will learn how to utilize the budget management feature to effectively manage and allocate budgets in Configured Commerce.

After completing this module, you should be able to,

  • Navigate and modify the budget management settings
  • Create, assign and manage budgets on the website

Why use Budget Management?

With budget management, you can efficiently track and control spending, ensuring funds are allocated effectively and within set limits. By using this feature, businesses can enhance their financial oversight, prevent overspending, and make informed decisions based on real-time budget data.

How do I benefit from Budget Management?

Here's how these features benefit different roles:

  • Customer Service: Your customers may have internal budget management processes that they need to follow. Allowing your customers to self service by setting up their own budget processes frees you up to help with complex order issues and allows customers to customize their budget needs to fit your site.
  • Researcher/Buyer:  As a lead buyer for your organization, you may be in charge of keeping track of department spend and ensuring your buyers don't go over budget. Using a site with budget management built in allows you to customize a budget setup that meets your needs without having to keep track in a separate system or by calling a customer service representative.
