Outline

In this module, you will learn how to use the CMS Dashboard in Optimizely CMS and understand the layout and components of the user interface that support content management. You’ll explore how to access content workflow status, broken links, sorting features, and how to navigate using the dashboard to get timely insights into your content.

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Access the CMS Dashboard and interpret the information displayed

  • Use workflow status tabs to navigate to content needing review, approval, etc.

  • Sort and filter dashboard entries by name, modification date, and editor

  • Identify broken links and use the dashboard to locate affected pages

  • Switch dashboard views by language and understand how that affects content visibility

Overview of the CMS Dashboard

The Dashboard is a central place where editors with CMS edit privileges can view all content in one place. It shows status of workflows (e.g. Drafts, In Review, Approved, Scheduled, Rejected) and highlights broken link counts.

Workflow Status Tabs

Each tab corresponds to a stage in the content workflow. Clicking on a tab reveals pages in that status. From there, you can click page names directly to edit content, or use the "More (…)” menu to change workflow state.

Sorting and Filtering Functionality

You can sort dashboard items by columns: Name, Last modified, and Modified by—click the column headers to rearrange the list.

The dashboard shows counts of broken links, and lists pages with at least one broken link. Clicking “View Full Report” opens the Reports area to examine broken link details. Only pages you can edit are shown.

Language Filter

When your site supports multiple languages, the dashboard allows you to view content per selected language. Selecting a language filters the dashboard tabs to show content in that language only. Administrators can enable language filter options.
