All Properties Editing View

In this module, you will learn how to work with the All Properties editing view in Optimizely CMS. This view provides access to all content properties, including advanced options not available in the On-Page Editing view. You will explore how to edit basic information fields, manage global properties, and use different tabs—such as Content and Settings—to control metadata, categories, shortcuts, and publishing details.
After completing this module, you should be able to:
Access the All Properties editing view from the toolbar
Identify and edit basic information properties like Name, URL, and Simple Address
Manage global properties and understand language-specific restrictions
Work with content, settings, and shortcut options across different tabs
Apply advanced tools such as expiration, archiving, and language fallback
Accessing the All Properties Editing View
Click All Properties in the toolbar to open this mode.
This view displays additional properties not available in On-Page Editing.
The available tabs and properties depend on your site’s implementation and content type.
Global Properties
Some properties are locked in language-specific versions and can only be edited in the master language.
These global properties ensure consistency across multilingual sites.
Basic Information Properties
Displayed in the gray area at the top:
Name – The page title, also shown in the page tree and menus.
Name in URL – Auto-generated from the page name and hierarchy. Edit with caution to avoid broken links.
Simple Address – Create short, memorable URLs (e.g., /products).
Display in Navigation – Toggle visibility in menus.
Visible To – Manage access rights using the Manage option.
Languages – Shows which language versions exist.
ID and Type – Displays the system-generated content ID and type.
Tools – Includes: Language Settings (fallback/replacement), Manage Expiration and Archiving, and Permanently Mark as Being Edited
Content Tab
Category – Used for filtering, search, or listings (requires site configuration).
Main Body – Rich-text field for adding editorial content using the TinyMCE editor.
Settings Tab
Published / Created / Modified – System timestamps.
Update Modified Date – Update the “last modified” timestamp when making significant edits.
Sort Subpages / Sort Index – Define how pages appear in navigation.
Shortcut Options – Create links to internal or external content. Types include:
No shortcut (default content page)
Shortcut to another content item
Shortcut to a page on another website
No shortcut, display text only (menu heading)
Fetch content from another content item
