Create and manage audiences

In this module, you will learn how to create, configure, and manage Audiences in Optimizely CMS. Audiences allow you to define visitor segments based on specific rules—such as visit count, location, device type, or referral URL—to personalize and target content effectively.

After completing this module, you will be able to:

• Understand what audiences are and how they’re used for personalization
• Create a new audience and configure key options
• Manage existing audiences (edit, copy, delete)
• Enable features like statistics and access rights

Access & Permissions

Only users with the VisitorGroupAdmins role can manage audiences. You’ll find all audiences under the Audiences tab, where you can view, create, and configure each one.

Creating a New Audience

You can easily create a new audience from the Audiences tab by defining its name, purpose, and criteria.
